Labor-day Weekend

Naturally, we all love it when Miah gets an extra day to spend with us!! Miah decided to take Adin on his dream day-trip. First we went to check out Daddy's work

Going for a ride on the forklift

Then Miah took Adin for a ride on Phil's motorcycle (his boss)

Adin ALWAYS points out that they wear a helmet on the motorcycle... so he was
thrilled to get to put one on

Then Miah took Adin to the truck stop to check out the semi-trucks (sorry I didn't get any pics of that), and then he drove us out to the pier to see the ships!

Adin LOVED the big rope tethering the ship to the shore

Overall, it was just a great day spent together as a family!!

BIG Week!

WISDOM TEETH
Well, I finally got my wisdom teeth out on Thursday. No fun! But it really wasn't too bad... of course- I was a sight to see. lol
ADIN's FIRST STEPS
We had a huge milestone!!! On Friday, Adin took about 5 or six steps from me on the couch, to Dad a few steps away. I grabbed the camera, as we tried to coerce him to walk some more. We got a little recorded. Please keep in mind, that my mouth is stuffed with gauze as I was recording, so I sound a little muffled.

ADIN's FIRST INDEPENDENCE DAY
I hope that everyone had a fabulous 4th of July! Ours was pretty low key. We took naps, played some games. Miah made a rotisserie chicken on our BBQ... which I could only gum a few bites of- but it was DELICIOUS!!! We kept Adin up, and drove over and parked at the Chandler Airstrip so we could get a good view of the fireworks. Adin and I with some fireworks in the background (Try to ignore me... I am still not 100%)Adin was MESMERIZED!!!! (Just look at his face)
HAPPY INDEPENDENCE!!!!

And to my Dad, and Miah's Dad... we love you! Thank you for loving us, and teaching us, and loving Adin too!

Surprise Easter

Miah's sister, Leah (who lives in Georgia), has been up with her four children visiting their mom in Utah. We really wanted to see her and the children, and of course his mom as well, so we decided to drive up and surprise them. We have been planning the trip for some time now, but it became more and more difficult to keep a secret as his mom kept pestering us, and begging us to come visit. So anyways, last Thursday afternoon, I picked Miah up from work with the car packed, and we made the nice long drive up. We arrived there at 2 in the morning, that is, 3 am their time. What a time for a surprise visit!!!!! No one, thankfully, was clubbed in the head with a baseball bat, or shot at, and after the realization set in, Leah and Mom were so excited to see us!!! Philip and Jill and their kids drove up the next day to see everyone as well. Unfortunately the trip was brief, as Miah had to get back to work on Tuesday morning.
Adin absolutely loved playing with his cousins - We tried to get at least one to come home with us, as he absolutely adored the attention, but no luck there.

The day before Easter, we all went to Temple Square, and toured the conference center, walked by the temple, and watched the Restoration Video at the Joseph Smith memorial building.

Valentine's Scavenger Hunt

I told Miah that I wanted to do Valentine's this year, so I planned a little scavenger hunt. Here were his clues:

He had to go to our grocery store, Bashas.

Then he had to drive all the way to his brother, Philip's in Mesa.
Miah took Adin to one of the YW's home in our ward, for Adin to have his first babysitter. (hoo-ray for that!!!!!)
Miah then had to return home, where he had some nice clothes laid out on the bed for him to change into.
Finally, Miah had to go up to the front apartment office, to pick up his last clue, which was a hand-drawn map cut up as a puzzle.
Once put together, it led him to me waiting for him in a park with a picnic of Rotisssori chicken, baguette with cheeese, and chocolate covered strawberries.
Which by the way, this was my first time ever making chocolate covered strawberries. They were really fun to make. This was a picture of some that were left-over today (I think they looked a little better yesterday). I hope you all had a fabulous Valentine's Day too!!!

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!! (lots of pics)

We had a wonderful Christmas with Mom and Dad! We got here Saturday evening (a little later than planned, due to a missed exit that took us on a detour through San Francisco!) But we made it and have had a lot of fun talking, playing games, and lots of shopping! And of course sharing Christmas together.

CHRISTMAS DAY (Adin's 1st Christmas!!!)
Baby Adin Santa with Auntie Ria Adin with his stocking that I made for him (not totally finished with it, but done enough to fill it) Adin's gift to Benny, wrapped up in painting tape... hehe Uncle Ben gave Adin a cute sock monkey, and his first match-box car and Ben is wearing the beanie I made for him. Mom wearing the scarf I crocheted for her
Miah gave me a giant Apple box, filled with tree bows (left over from trimming the Christmas tree), a brick, and my "Mexico blanket". I thought there must be a small gift hidden inside... but that was it. Thanks Miah, you are soooo thoughtful!!! Okay- so Miah brought out my real present after the fun of watching me open a box with essentially nothing in it... he got me the Kitchen Aid I have been wanting- I can't wait for the possibilities it holds (Miah just got it so I would make him more yummy food, like bread and cookies, etc, etc!) Miah playing with some wind-up toys that were on Adin's gifts. We had a wonderful Christmas, and hope that you all did too!!! We love you all!!!!!!
PS. I chose purple as the color for my font, because Caleb told me that it is a common Christmas color ;)
